Elastoline 1400 Aliphatic UV Stable Top Coat
Elastoline 1400 is an aliphatic waterborne polyurethane UV-stable topcoat. This product will dry quickly which may help reduce production times. The cured polymer produces an extremely tough and flexible surface with excellent color retention qualities. Standard colours are black and white.
Why do you need Elastoline 1400 top coat?
Polyurea and polyurethane spray applied coatings are aromatic systems that inherently change colour when exposed to UV light. An un-pigmented polyurea or polyurethane is naturally an amber colour, however UV exposure will result in the coating turning a green / brown colour over time. Whilst this UV degradation affects the colour of the coating, it has no effect on the physical properties of the polyurea or polyurethane. Polyurea or polyurethane that is pigmented in black will not show any change in colour, as the depth of colour masks the effect. Over time however, polyurethane can develop a slight chalking to the surface, making it look charcoal instead of black. Again this doesn't affect the physical properties. White coatings will change colour fairy quickly, which is why it is so important to protect the surface with Elastoline 1400 top coat. With polyurea and polyurethane being amber in colour, it is also therefore very hard to achieve a pure brilliant white, which can be achieved with Elastoline 1400.
Applied with conventional spray equipment, Elasotline 1400 is a quick and easy to apply, especially as it cures quickly to help speed up your production. Elastoline 1400 is only available in a matt finish, which makes it ideal for stopping stage lighting or other light sources reflecting on the coating and distracting from the main event.
