Elastoline 7030 Black Polyurethane Speaker Coating

Elastoline 7030 is a 1:1, fast-set, spray applied two-component polyurethane coating. It is 100% solids and contains zero VOCs. Elastoline 7030 is typically used as a protective coating for wood cabinets, audio speakers & flight cases. It exhibits excellent impact and scratch resistance and strong adhesion without applying a primer. Elastoline 7030 allows for a variety of final appearances, but is generally finished with a “fog coat” to impart a fine, textured finish. Standard colors are black and off-white.

Why use Elastoline 7030 speaker coatings?

Elastoline 7030 is a polyurethane, which means it has a dense cross linked molecular structure, or generally speaking a tough, hard shell. Polyurethanes are traditionally harder and denser coatings giving high abrasion and excellent impact resistance. Elastoline 7030 offers the highest levels of protection for speakers, especially for fixed installation systems, which is why it has the enviable reputation of being industry benchmark for coatings.

Applied with a plural component reactor, Elastoline 7030 gels in 8 seconds and is tack free in 30 seconds, making it easy to handle as well as bringing maximum efficiency to any production line. Typically a speaker will have 0.5mm of Elastoline 7030 applied, followed by a texture coat for aesthetic appeal and increased friction when handling. The texture can be varied between a fine grit sandpaper and gentle orange peel, depending on spray gun and pressure settings. The texture coat is sometimes referred to as a drift coat, mist coat, fog coat or anti slip.
